I knew a Buddhist once, and I’ve hated myself ever since.

With all the horrible, horrible shit that your priest is pumping into your kids head, his dick should be the least of your worries.

Any law that is morally related … is a fucking church law and it shouldn’t exist.
If you want to get together in any exclusive situation and have people love you, fine – but to hang all this desperate sociology on the idea of The Cloud-Guy who has The Big Book, who knows if you’ve been bad or good – and cares about any of it – to hang it all on that, folks, is the chimpanzee part of the brain working.
A national day of prayer”? Does that scare the spine out of anyone? Especially when you consider that it’s all those dog-shit religions that start these fucking wars to begin with. Ninety percent of every war that’s ever been fought is because of some made-up, mind control, completely fictional religion. You never hear in the news, “200 killed today when Atheist rebels took heavy shelling from the Agnostic stronghold in the north”. No, it’s because you got a silly, placebo religion cuz you don’t want to admit that you don’t fucking know.
But you notice that when the Lord God of Heaven and Earth, adored Father of Man, goes to war, there is no limit. He is totally without mercy — he, who is called the Fountain of Mercy. He slays, slays, slays! All the men, all the beasts, all the boys, all the babies; also all the women and all the girls, except those that have not been deflowered.
He makes no distinction between innocent and guilty. The babies were innocent, the beasts were innocent, many of the men, many of the women, many of the boys, many of the girls were innocent, yet they had to suffer with the guilty. What the insane Father required was blood and misery; he was indifferent as to who furnished it.
Gods are useful to inflict fear, fear is required for control, and control is necessary for slavery.
I wouldn’t say that religion is a form of mental illness, but I will say that religion allows perfectly sane and neurologically healthy people to believe things by the millions that only mentally ill people could believe on their own. The social support of doctrine allows for quite crazy beliefs in the 21st century to be held and operated upon by perfectly sane people.
The only difference between a cult and a religion is the amount of real estate they own.
Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man - living in the sky - who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anquish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever ‘til the end of time…. But he loves you!
